04/23/2018．減塑優先、無痕飲食 Plastic Reduction Traceless Diet

親愛的教職員工及文藻的寶貝同學們：

　　教宗方濟各於2015年6月頒布「願祢受讚頌」通諭，從道德和環境生態的角度，呼籲世人都應承擔起責任照料這個共同的家園，以確保地球可以適合人類永續生存。近年來，環境與氣候的急遽變遷，美麗的星球不再，大型複合式天然災害發生的頻率與強度加劇，我們生活的土地，熟悉的校園，同樣也承受著大地的怒吼與自然的反噬。

 
　　行政院環保署自民國91年起推動購物用塑膠袋減量措施，冀望從源頭減量並養成民眾自備購物袋的習慣。並自107年1月1日起擴大管制對象，重申限塑政策，不只要維護海洋及生態，更重要的是維護人類生存的永續環境。

　
　　緣上，本校於107年5月1日起推動「減塑優先、無痕飲食」新生活運動，藉由師長帶頭改變校內飲食文化，例如學校重要的大型會議，包括行政會議、主管會議，出席主管皆須自備餐具，不再提供一次性容器的餐盒便當，用共食方式供餐落實無痕飲食，除不製造餐盒垃圾外，降低廚餘與食材之浪費。藉由校園環境的營造，如廣設飲水機、校內餐具租借站、校內餐具洗滌專區建置等，漸次汰除塑膠容器與一次性餐具於校園中，以達到無痕飲食的真意。盼藉此新生活運動，喚起全校教職員生對環境永續覺醒的良知，落實垃圾從源頭減量，減塑由心開始，形成新的校園文化與共識，善盡地球公民的責任。

　
　　「減塑優先、無痕飲食」新生活運動不單是環保意識覺醒而已，更是認真對待自己生命的方式。重新檢視生命對永續環境的責任，唯有「減法」的人生，才能「更」專注在重要的事物上，改變由我們開始，做個融入愛地球DNA的優質文藻人。

Dear faculty members and students:

　
　　In June 2015, Pope Francis issued an environmental mandate he called, "Praise Be to You". This was developed in order to urge people around the world to focus on morality and environmental protection. He urged all people to work together, in order to ultimately ensure the survival mankind. As the climate continues to change, our beautiful planet continues to suffer. Natural disasters have become more intense and frequent and therefore something must be done to improve the situation.

　
　　In 2002, the Environmental Protection Administration, Executive Yuan began promoting measures to reduce the use of plastic bags and encouraged people to reuse shopping bags. On January 1, 2018, they increased their objectives and reiterated this policy, by putting in more measures to limit plasticity. They hoped this would not only contribute to oceanic and ecological preservation, but more importantly ensure the survival of mankind.

  
　　On May 1, 2018, the school will begin promoting a policy of “Plastic Reduction Traceless Diet”. Our school’s leadership has been put in charge of reducing the use of plastics during Wenzao’s important large-scale meetings, including executive meetings. Supervisors can be good role-models by bringing their own tableware, not ordering lunches with disposable containers and ordering food that doesn’t come with plastic bags or throw-away utensils. It is also hoped that kitchen waste can also be reduced. Drinking fountains, tableware rental stations and utensil washing areas are now available throughout the campus. We hope this will eventually eliminate the use of plastic containers and disposable tableware. I hope the entire staff will become more conscientious regarding these endeavors, incorporate it into our campus culture and commit themselves to a movement that focuses on environmental protection.

　　
　　This new initiative of reducing plastics and food waste is not only about simply promoting environmental awareness, but also a movement designed to urge the staff and faculty to become more responsible environmental citizens. I believe we can all work together to develop a greater overall environmental responsibility throughout our university. I urge everyone to become good role models and focus on Wenzao’s commitment and responsibility to mother Earth.
